The PATHS Credentialing program is an education and training program designed for Direct Support Professionals working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. PATHS' curriculum is based on the best national models, such as the Community Support Skills Standards and the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals' Code of Ethics. The program offers sequential credentials that teach, reinforce and build upon the essential skills of a highly qualified Direct Support Professional.

Direct Support Professionals can pursue three specialized credentials, which have been recognized at the state and national levels.

The Certificate of Initial Proficiency (CIP), which includes 60 hours of classroom instructions, including training in self-determination living skills and supports, service facilitation, organizational participation, self-determination, documentation, advocacy and personal ethics.

The Certificate of Advanced Proficiency (CAP), which includes 95 hours of classroom instruction, including additional training in community and service networking, crisis prevention and intervention, education and self development, vocational/educational and career support and assessment strategies.

Certificate of Specialized Skills and Knowledge, which includes specialized instruction to become a certified PATHS instructor or to work in supervision or management.

Anne Grady will be offering the PATHS CIP Class beginning on January 26, 2010 and lasting through March 30, 2010. The class will meet at the Anne Grady Center on Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm. Another PATHS CIP Class will be offered at Anne Grady beginning September 19, 2010 through November 16, 2010. This class will be held at the Anne Grady Center on Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm.

The cost of the 60 hour CIP Class is $250.00 per student. That is 10 classes for only $250.00.

The Cost of the CAP Class is $550.00 and that is 20 classes for only $550.00.

Currently Anne Grady is only offering the CIP Class, however in the future the CAP Class will be offered…so check back.
